A single-herb liquid extract of dried herb of Capsella bursa-pastoris, cold-macerated in small batches and offered either as a traditional tincture in organic sugar-cane alcohol or as a vegetable glycerite.

About the plant

Shepherd's purse is one of the most widely distributed flowering plants on earth, a crucifer that grows in every temperate country and most tropical highlands, on any bare ground. It is easy to be certain of: below the small white four-petalled flowers, arranged along the stem, are the seed pods, and each one is a flat triangular heart shape notched at the top, exactly like the shape of a medieval belt pouch. In Japan and China the young rosette is a spring vegetable.

Glycerite: Capsella bursa-pastoris dried herb, vegetable glycerin USP, distilled water.

No added sugar. Contains no artificial colours, preservatives or fragrances.

Suggested use

Shake well before use. Take 20–30 drops (about 1 ml, one full squeeze of the dropper bulb) in 2 oz of water or juice, up to 4 times daily, or as directed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Warnings

Not for use in pregnancy — shepherd's purse stimulates the uterus. It may affect blood pressure and heart rhythm; speak to a practitioner first if you take medication for either, and if you have a history of kidney stones.

Keep out of reach of children. Not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are taking any medication, have a medical condition, or are scheduled for surgery, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Discontinue use if an adverse reaction occurs.
